We thought it was time we introduced TVC’s new Welcome & Connection department. At The Village Chapel, we seek to welcome congregants with warmth, hospitality and care in a authentic and organic way. It is our desire that first time guests and regular attenders engage in the life of the church and have access to connection from the moment they first attend. We achieve this with our Welcome, All-Church Events, Mercy and Hospitality Volunteer Teams.

If you are gifted with mercy, hospitality or event planning, we would love to have you on the team! Opportunities include Sunday Morning Welcome Team, Potluck Hosts, All-Church Events Planning, Funeral & Visitation Mercy Team, Meals Team, and much more.

Scripture is full of examples of welcome, hospitality and connection to community. In fact, all the great stories we know of those who have a committed walk with the Lord started with acts of welcome, hospitality or a connection to the body of Christ. Toward the beginning of the story of God’s people, Lot was visited by angels in Sodom, and by showing welcome and hospitality to those who were not like him he spared his family from the destruction that would come. When Rahab, who was far from the Lord, opened her door to Jewish spies, she was given an invitation to be adopted into the family of God. In these instances of hospitality, those doing the welcoming received enormous favor and blessing.

The Welcome & Connection department, led by Director of Welcome & Connection Emily Bailey, seeks to greet those who might look differently, to open the doors of the church to those who might act differently and to care for those in our midst who might even believe differently, in order that they may be brought in and eternally connected to the family of God through our TVC family.
