You’re invited to join us on Thursday morning, January 18, from 9 am-12 pm in the Family Room at TVC Main for a Poverty Simulation workshop put on by United4Hope. This interactive workshop enables participants to look at poverty from a variety of angles and discuss the potential for change within our community. We’ll also be hosting some Metro Nashville Public Schools staff at this event.
The Poverty Simulation delves into the life experiences of individuals living in poverty to help others empathize with students and others who are in need. This workshop simulates a week living below the poverty line in Nashville and will help participants gain a better understanding of poverty as a systems issue while they learn how to work together to uplift students and their families. Every year, participants walk away with a refreshed vision on how they can engage with those living in poverty.
