Mark your calendars now for one of the biggest events of the year: the TVC Church Picnic! We’ll gather on the grounds at TVC Main on Saturday, May 13 from 4-7 pm for fun, food and some good old-fashioned fellowship. And there are a few fun additions this year, so read on for more info.
Once again, we’ll have bounce houses and face painting for the kids, a cornhole tournament for the kids at heart and some amazing homemade barbecue. You can get a plateful, which includes a pulled-pork sandwich and sides, for just $5. Or if barbecue’s not your thing, pack a picnic dinner and bring it along to feed yourself and your family.
New this year is the addition of The Great TVC Bake-off, open to both adults and kids, with two separate divisions for preschool through fifth grade and sixth through 12th grade. Categories include cakes, pies and cookies/bars. (Sign up for the Bake-off at events.thevillagechapel.com.) We also have activities specifically for TVC Youth, who will have some fun and then sell ice cream for dessert as a fundraiser for their summer missions projects.
Bring some chairs or blankets from home to sit on, so you can make sure to have a front row seat for all the action. The relaxed atmosphere at this annual event is perfect for hanging out in a more casual way (and for a longer time) than is possible before or after a Sunday service. Moving the event up to May should also make for cooler temps, and we’ll have the misting fans going as well.
The festivities will kick off at 4 pm, and be sure to sign up for the cornhole tournament as soon as you arrive (that competition will start at 5 pm). As our church continues to grow and we now worship in two different locations each week, the picnic is a great time for building community and having fun as a congregation all together in one place. With that in mind, we hope you’ll make plans to join us for this memorable annual event!
