Barefoot Republic Camp is a local nonprofit that facilitates Christ-centered relationships between individuals from diverse racial, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds through an equally diverse platform of artistic, athletic and team-building programs. Barefoot hosts summer camp programs for children going into kindergarten through 12th grades focusing on Jesus’ mission of reconciliation.
Day camps are based in Nashville, and their overnight camp facility is located in Southern Kentucky, where they host retreat groups throughout the year. In order to make camp accessible to all, Barefoot offers scholarships to 50 percent of their campers each year. This summer they are anticipating scholarshipping 1,250 campers to help them experience a life-changing week of camp where they will hear the truth of the Gospel. Last year, they awarded over $466,000 to campers in need and hope to award over $600,000 this summer.
TVC has been partnered with this ministry for many years, sending campers to summer camp since 2009, and sending teams to participate in volunteer work days in Kentucky and the camp’s Franklin office, as well as helping to scholarship TVC campers each summer.
Barefoot Republic has an exciting summer planned, hosting 16 sessions of camp in Tennessee, Kentucky and California. The season begins May 5 with their annual Big Foot Little Foot Father/Son Weekend and ends in August with their Father/Daughter Retreat.
Barefoot is always looking for those who want to help serve. They would love to connect with volunteers, whether you want to volunteer one week at camp or have the availability to work in the office one day a week helping with administrative tasks.
