As we mark Palm Sunday today, it’s the beginning of Easter Week. We hope that you’ll also make plans to join us this coming Friday and Sunday to remember Jesus’ sacrifice and celebrate His resurrection.
Our annual Good Friday services are among the most moving gatherings held at TVC all year. These silent services include participatory elements (candles, nails, the cross) — all designed to walk those in attendance through the events leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion. If you haven’t been before, it’s a very meaningful way to commemorate Christ’s sacrifice and prepare your heart for Easter Sunday.
To accommodate everyone who wants to attend, we’ll offer two duplicate Good Friday services at 6 and 7:30 pm on April 14 in the Chapel at TVC Main. Due to the special nature of this silent service, we ask that you make every effort to arrive on time. While all are welcome, those in attendance need to be able to follow along with the slides on the big screen, so keep that in mind when planning for young children. Reserve Nursery and Preschool spots at childcare.thevillagechapel.com.
For those with vision issues, it can be difficult to follow along on Good Friday since the lights in the Chapel are dimmed. To help, we’ve made the text of the entire service available for download in advance at goodfriday.thevillagechapel.com.
Then return on Easter Sunday, April 16, as we celebrate at our regular morning service times at both campuses. Our parking lots can fill up quickly on holidays, so plan to arrive early or consider using Lyft, which is offering special Easter discounts for TVCers. If you’re new to Lyft, get two free rides (up to $10) at www.lyft.com/invite/tvc or download the app and use code TVC. If you already use Lyft, save 20 percent off up to two rides to/from TVC Main with the code TVCEASTER.
Note: There will be no 6 pm Vespers Service on Easter.
